Our aim is to create opportunities for active lives in\nthe community for people with special psychological needs. We believe that\npeople with such needs are valuable members of society who must be given equal\nopportunities to lead rich, active lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
AS Hoolekandeteenused, a welfare services company, was\nfounded in 2007. Since 2010 it has been working towards closing large care\nhomes for people with special psychological needs and building smaller, cosier\nhomes with humane living conditions to replace them. Large care homes are being\nclosed all over Estonia for one simple reason \u2013 each and every person has the\nright to live in a home, rather than an institution. Although individuals with\nspecial needs often require help with everyday matters, everyone is the same in\nnature \u2013 we all need a home and the opportunity to spend our days productively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
To date, nine large dormitory-type institutions have\nbeen closed down in Estonia, with three still awaiting closure. More than 1000\npeople have been granted modern living conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In order to help our clients lead active lives, we\nencourage them to take part in community activities. We include the client’s\nloved ones, friends and colleagues and work with them to create a supportive\nnetwork for the client. We value our clients’ progress and encourage them to\nchallenge themselves. We believe that it is important to support those with\nspecial needs in organising their lives, rather than organising their lives for\nthem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition to special welfare services we offer\nsubstitute homes for children with special needs, secure care institutions, an\naccommodation centre for asylum seekers and a general care service for the\nelderly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We have units in four regions: Harju, Kesk-L\u00f5una,\nL\u00e4\u00e4ne and Viru. Our V\u00f5isiku and S\u00f5mera homes and Vao centre are located\nseparately.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The foundation Hea Hoog also forms part of our\ncompany. It aims to help individuals with special psychological needs find job\nopportunities, to create jobs, to provide sheltered employment and to sell the\nproducts its clients create.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
